UMKC Ends Season In Mid-Con Finals

March 9, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Eleven wins would have been enough to get the UMKC women into the NCAA Tournament, proving that it’s not how many games you win, it’s when you win them. The Kangaroos fell to fourth-seeded Oral Roberts 48-42 in the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament finals. UMKC, which was the first seven-seed to ever make the title game, couldn’t get anything going offensively—they scored just 21 points in each half, though they held ORU to just 19 points in the second half. Sammi Knapic was the only Kangaroo in double digit scoring with 11 points. UMKC finished the season 10-20.
