Royals Lose To Brewers, Cards Top Marlins

Kyle Snyder, who missed the 2004 season with a shoulder injury, retired six straight batters, but the Royals fell to the Brewers 9-6 on Sunday. Milwaukee got up 7-0 before Kansas City put up two runs in the fifth inning. Carlos Lee hit two home runs for the Brewers. The first round of cuts for are expected today’s game against the Rockies.

Chris Carpenter hadn’t pitched since September, when a nerve disorder ended his season just weeks before the beginning of the playoffs. Yesterday he threw three scoreless innings as the Cardinals picked off the Marlins 5-1. Tony LaRussa announced that Carpenter will bet he starter, when St. Louis opens up the season in Houston on April 5.
