UMKC head coach Rich Zvosec has been named Mid-Continent Conference Coach of the Year. Zvosec’s squad started 0-7 before reeling off 11-straight wins and finishing second on the conference standings. They’re the second seed in the conference tournament and will face Oakland on Saturday. Seniors Mike English and Carlton Aaron were first-team all-conference selections. English led UMKC in scoring with 15.6 points per game and dished out 3.3 assists per contest. Aaron averaged 14.7 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game. He led the conference in rebounds and shooting percentage (58.5).

Southeast Missouri State women’s basketball player Tatiana Conceicao was named the Ohio Valley Conference’s Player of the year after averaging a league-high 17. 9 points per game. She was third in the league with 70 steals this season. She’s joins Gray C. Harris, who won it in 1996, as the only other SEMO player to win the award.

Dainmon Gonner, who led the Ohio Valley Conference with 20.5 points and 3.5 steals per game for the SEMO men’s squad, was named first-team all conference. Reggie Golson who leads the league in rebounding and blocks was named to the second-team
