The Cardinals played their first exhibition game against of the season and topped Florida Atlantic University 8-2 in a “B” squad affair. The Cardinals scored runs in five different innings and took advantage of three errors. FAU alum, Carmen Cali, pitched a perfect ninth inning for St. Louis. Mark Mulder will get the start tonight for the Cards as they take on the Mets.

The Royals also played a “B” squad game on Wednesday and fell to the Rangers 6-3, who also train in Surprise, Arizona. Zach Greinke walked two batters and had control problems. He walked two of the four batters he faced and even sent one pitch sailing over the catchers head. The Royals will play their first regular exhibition game today with the Rangers.
