Workers’ Comp Bill Passes House

March 2, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

A move to tighten the rules under which workers can claim injuries on the job has passed the House. Supporters say the Workers’ Compensation system must be tightened to keep businesses in the state and to help in attracting more to it. Opponents say supporters have gone too far, and will make it much more difficult for workers to receive compensation for legitimate injuries. Business interests succeeded in pushing for more business-friendly language in the House bill. It now returns to the Senate for consideration.
