SEMO Men and Women Advance

The 6th-seeded Southeast Missouri St. men’s basketball team pulled an upset in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference by knocking off 3rd-seeded Murray St. Reggie Golson led the Redhawks with 21 points, while Dainmon Gonner added 20. Golson grabbed 11 rebounds, as well. SEMO will face 2nd-seeded Eastern Kentucky in the OVC semifinals on Friday in Nashville.

The Southeast Missouri St. women are the 2nd-seed in their tournament and won a 47-45 nail-biter with 7th-seeded Samford. Tatiana Conceicao led the Redhawks with 19 points, while Chandra Brown scored 11 points and grabbed 10 boards. SEMO advances to the semifinals, where they will face Tennessee Tech on Friday in Nashville.
