Faulk Ready For New Role As Backup

February 17, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk will begin next season as the backup. Head coach Mike Martz announced on Wednesday that Steven Jackson will take over as the Rams’ starter, while Faulk will serve as a “change-of-pace” back. The Rams took Jackson in the first round of last year’s NFL draft. Jackson made his first career start against San Francisco on Dec. 9. Knee problems slowed the Jackson the last couple of weeks, and he and Faulk split time in the backfield.
