Wounded Columbia Cop Dies

The Columbia police officer who was shot on January 10th has died from her injuries. The Columbia Police Department reports Officer Molly Bowden died around 1:30 Thursday afternoon at University Hospital in Columbia. Bowden was shot three times in the neck and shoulder area during a routine traffic stop. The suspect, Rick Evans, shot himself the next day during a footchase with Columbia police. He died later that day at University Hospital. Before taking his own life, Evans shot and wounded officer Chris Brown in the arm.
