The SMS Bears notched their fourth straight win with a smothering defensive performance against Indiana St. at the Hammons Student Center in Springfield. SMS topped the Sycamores 58-34, holding them to just 25 percent shooting and 14 points in the second half. It was their best defensive performance in six years and it marked head coach Barry Hinson’s 100th win at SMS. SMS had four players in double figures with Deke Thompson leading the way with 12 points. Blake Ahearn and Kellen Easley had 11 each and Tamarr Maclin added 10. David Moss led ISU with 10 points. The Bears are 11-8 overall and 4-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference standings.
