Businessmen, farmers, and environmentalists seem to be united in their support of the renewal of a one-tenth-of-a-cent sales tax that funds state parks and soil conservation measures in Missouri. The proposal would automatically put the measure in front of voters for renewal every 10 years instead of using the current petition process each time it needs renewing. No one testifies against the bill during this hearing. The Chairman of the Senate Agriculture, Conservation, Parks and Natural Resources Committee expects it to pass out of committee next week.
