The Vashon High School boys basketball team has reached new heights. USA Today released its weekly Super 25 rankings on Tuesday and the Wolverines took over the top spot. Vashon, which is coached by Missouri Sports Hall of Fame inductee Floyd Irons, was number two last week and moved to number one when Harvey Thornton High School of Chicago lost last week. Vashon has won 48 games in a row and is 17-0 this season. It’s the first time they’ve ever been ranked number one in the nation. They have nine state titles to their credit.
