State Senator Matt Bartle of Lee’s Summit has a new attack on sexually-oriented businesses. He wants to tax them out of business. Bartle suggests a 20 percent tax on revenues and a $5 fee for everybody going in the door. A spokesman for the adult entertainment industry says Bartle’s bill could hurt economic development in the state becuase it could hit as many as one-thousand businesses. Last year, Bartle tried to ban billboards advertising adult entertainment venues from Interstate roadsides.
