UMKC Wins 9th Straight

January 25, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Make it nine straight for UMKC. They won again last night, topping Centenary 82-70 at Hale Arena. The Kangaroos got a career night out of Carlton Aaron, who scored 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the win. UMKC trailed 30-29 after the first half, but turned on the heat the rest of the way, outscoring the Gentlemen 53-40 in the second half. UMKC hit 60 percent of their shots over the final 20 minutes. Mike English added 17 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals and Brandon Temple had 17 points for UMKC. The ‘Roos are 9-7 overall and 7-0 in the Mid-Continent Conference. That’s the best conference start of any of the current members of the league. Their nine-game winning streak is a school record.
