Blunt Appoints Former Senator As DNR Chief

January 25, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt has nominated a former Senator to head the Department of Natural Resources. Doyle Childers of Reeds Spring will likely have little trouble gaining Senate confirmation. He left the Senate only last year, due to term limits. Blunt has already shaken up DNR by firing eight top officials in the Department. He’s making it clear he expects change at the Department. Blunt’s biggest criticism of DNR is that it has been too slow in letting businesses know if they will be issued permits to operate in the State.
