St. Louis Wide Receiver Breaks Commitment To MU, Will Play At Nebraska

January 21, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Hazelwood East senior Chris Brooks doesn’t want to catch footballs for Mizzou after all. He has apparently broken his verbal commitment to MU and will play college ball at Nebraska. He says he didn’t have a relationship with MU head coach Gary Pinkel and connected with Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan. Brooks caught 66 passes for 1,172 yards and 14 touchdowns and was considered one of Missouri’s top recruits this year. He helped lead Hazelwood East to the Class 6 championship game, which they lost to Columbia Hickman.
