Auditors Discover Hundreds Of State Computers In Private Warehouse

January 13, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

More than a million dollars worth of computer equipment bought by the State more than a year ago, but never put into operation, has been found in a private warehouse in Jefferson City. State Auditor Claire McCaskill says her office made the discovery. McCaskill speculates the Department of Revenue made the purchase, because it had money in the budget and feared it would be taken away if not spent. The discovery included 430 Gateway computers, 420 printers, 400 cash drawers, 52 scanners and assorted other miscellaneous electronic equipment.
