What started out as a routine traffic stop Monday night in Columbia has resulted in two police officers and a shooting suspect hospitalized. Officer Molly Bowden was shot several times after pulling over a driver. Police caught up with the suspect, Richard Evans of Columbia, this morning at his parents’ home. Police say he fired at them, wounding Officer Chris Brown in the right bicep. They say Evans then turned the gun on himself and fired a shot into his head. Bowden is in critical but stable condition. Evans is in critical condition. Brown is listed in stable condition. An investigation is underway into what led to the initial shooting.
