Outgoing Economic Development Chief Open To Any And All Opportunities

December 29, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri’s outgoing Economic Development Director prepares to leave his job at the end of next week – with no solid career plans for the future. Governor Bob Holden appointed Kelvin Simmons Economic Development Director in December of last year. Prior to his appointment, Simmons served as Chairman of the Public Service Commission. Before coming on board at the PSC, Simmons was a member of the City Council in Kansas City. Simmons has no firm plans except for some family responsibilities in Kansas City. And, he says he’s leaving the Department is pretty good shape for his successor – whoever that might be. Simmons isn’t closing the door on government service in the future. In fact, he says he’s looking forward to keeping open his options to any opportunities that might come along.
