Southwest Missouri State and Oklahoma battled in Norman Thursday night. They battled so hard that Bears forward Tamarr Maclin was cut above his right eye and left a pool of blood on the floor after colliding with Kevin Bookout for a loose ball. That’s the kind of game it was. Unfortunately for the Bears they left with cuts, bruises and a loss, falling 61-53. SMS was able to hold OU to 30 percent shooting, but the Bears committed 22 turnovers—OU grabbed 14 steals. Tyler Cheney was the only SMS player in double digits, with 17 points and he led all scorers. The loss ended SMS’ six game winning streak and dropped them to 6-2, while Oklahoma improved to 7-2.
