Some Missouri National Guardsmen will be home for Christmas, but not long after that. A group of nine soldiers ships out to Texas on Monday for training and then to Afghanistan for a year. Sergeant Major Jim Schulte will lead the Missourians. While he’s away, Schulte’s wife Janelle will worry, pray for his return, and stay in touch with the families of the other soldiers. Sergeant Major Schulte says he’s glad he and his men will at least have Christmas at home. Janelle Schulte says she’ll do her best to keep up morale with the families who will have to say goodbye, so soon after Christmas.
