Governor-elect Matt Blunt says change is coming as soon as he becomes Governor. Blunt promises to act on the recommendations given him by a group of local economic development leaders. They say the state needs to reshape its incentive program to encourage businesses to move or expand here and that the Department of Economic Development needs to resharpen its focus on job recruitment. Blunt says the suggestions dovetail into his desire to restructure state government. Blunt agrees with the local leaders that the Economic Development Department has taken on too many additional responsibilities that has diluted its job recruitment efforts. He says those can be shifted to other departments or agencies.
