High school basketball teams from California to Connecticut are in Missouri for the 24th annual St. Louis Shootout. The one-day event will feature nine games. South Oak Cliff High School of Dallas is ranked 6th nationally in one poll and will face Francis Howell Central. Webster Groves, which is Missouri’s 3rd ranked team in Class 5, will face Homewood-Flossmoor of Illinois. Kansas City O’Hara is ranked 3rd in Class 4 and will take on Althoff (Ill.) High School. Kevin Lisch of Althoff has committed to Mizzou. Van-Far High School is the defending Missouri Class 2 champs—and currently ranked second—and will face Civic Memorial of Illinois. In all, 18 teams—seven from Missouri—will compete at the Savvis Center today….Poplar Bluff High School travels to Indianapolis to face Lawrence North High School and the game will be featured on ESPN tonight. Lawrence North is ranked 7th in the nation. ESPN 2. Poplar Bluff features senior Tyler Hansbrough, who is considered by some to be the best high school player in the nation. He’s already committed to North Carolina.
