St. Louis Authorities Try To Get Crime Stats Right

December 2, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

St. Louis can’t seem to count when it comes to crime. Last month, the police chief apologized for an error that led to an incorrect report that crime in St. Louis had dropped dramatically last year. Crime actually rose. But during that news conference, the police chief had good news. Crime was down sharply this year. Now that report is in doubt. The chief has had to admit that the snafu that caused the first incorrect report hasn’t been completely addressed and seems to still be a problem. City officials are going back over the data to see if they can get the count right.
