Late Heroics Give SMS Win…Lady Bears Fall At Tulsa

Deke Thompson played the role of hero for the Southwest Missouri State men’s basketball team. The junior guard hit a 15-foot jumper with 2.7 seconds left, giving SMS a 65-63 win at Northern Illinois. Kelley Easley led the Bears with 14 points and eight rebounds. SMS improves to 1-1 on the year. The Bears play their home opener Saturday against Texas Pan-American……The SMS Lady Bears blew a 12-point lead in a 71-67 loss at Tulsa. Jenni Lingor led SMS with 31 points. Sarah Klaasen added 11 points for SMS. The Lady Bears drop to 0-2. Their home opener is set for Monday night against Arkansas-Little Rock.
