Kansas City School Superintendent Bernard Taylor says single-sex schools could be a solution to the district’s declining enrollment. Taylor suggests the first schools would be at the secondary level. The Kansas City School District has about 27,000 students – but that’s down 9,000 from eight years ago. Taylor has made his pitch at a school board retreat. The Board has not indicated if it will pursue the suggestions.
