Jobless Rate Falls In September

October 25, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

Unemployment dropped in September. The unemployment rate fell from 5.7-percent in August to 5.4-percent in September. More than 10,000 jobs were created during the month, continuing a trend of job growth this year, according to State Economic Development spokesman Jim Grebing. Good weather helped. Mild weather throughout September kept construction crews working, boosting jobs in the construction industry by 2,200 to 135,600 workers. Professional and business services added more than 2,000 jobs in September.
