Monday was a night of big plays for the St. Louis Rams. Three touchdowns of more than 35 yards led the Rams to a 28-21 win over Tampa Bay on Monday night. Marc Bulger threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to Torry Holt, giving the Rams a 7-0 lead just 2:20 into the game. The Bucs came right back and scored, thanks in large part to a 59-yard kickoff return to Torrie Cox. Tampa capped a 43-yard drive with a one yard touchdown run by Mike Alstott. The Bucs then took the lead in the second quarter on a Brian Griese touchdown pass to Michael Pittman. Marshall Faulk scored his 100th career rushing touchdown later in the quarter, a one-yard score that tied the game 14-14. Midway through the third quarter, Adam Archuleta recovered a Pittman fumble and returned it 93 yards to give the Rams a 21-14 lead. Griese’s second touchdown pass late in the third quarter tied the game again. Holt’s second touchdown catch of the night, this one covering 36 yards, provided the winning margin for the Rams. Bulger finished 18-of-30 for 264 yards. Holt caught six passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. The Rams defense forced four turnovers on teh night. The Rams improve to 4-2 and lead Seattle by a half-game in the NFC West.
