For the first time in three years, minor league hockey returns to Kansas City tonight. The Kansas City Outlaws of the United Hockey League make their debut tonight against the Missouri River Otters from St. Charles. The city’s last hockey team, the Kansas City Blades of the IHL, folded after the 2000-01 season. The seating capacity at Kemper Arena will be 7,045 for Outlaws games. A curtain system has been installed to block off the upper level. The Outlaws and River Otters play at 7:30 on Friday. The same teams play again Saturday night at Kemper, also at 7:30.
