NASCAR made its way to Kansas City, Kansas on Sunday as the race for the Cup continued. Joe Nemechek was the winner, finishing off a clean sweep of things at Kansas Speedway. Nemechek also won the Busch Series race on Saturday. Kurt Busch is the points leader with a 29-point bulge over Dale Earnhardt Jr. Joplin’s Jamie McMurray finished seventh on Sunday, earning his 18th top-ten finish of the year. McMurray who is shut out of the championship is 11th in points. Rusty Wallace was the next-highest finishing Missourian at 18th place Sunday. Columbia’s Carl Edwards was 22nd and Ken Schrader of Fenton was 27th.
