A group that’s working for the election of Democrats is leveling criticism at Secretary of State Matt Blunt, the Republican Candidate for Governor. The Missouri branch of America Coming Together says there are a lot of election irregularities going on … and it says Secretary of State Matt Blunt is at least partly to blame. ACT Missouri’s Sara Howard says the Secretary of State’s office has been standing by while absentee ballots are being requested by those not entitled to them. Spence Jackson, with the Blunt Campaign, says any claim of this kind is without merit because nobody in the Campaign has encouraged anyone to do anything illegal. Absentee ballots are restricted to anyone who believes he or she will be unable to vote on Election Day, someone who is sick or physically unable to vote in person on Election Day, someone who is incarcerated while retaining the right to vote, or anyone who is unable to vote because of religious beliefs.
