Albert Pujols slugged his way into the record books and led the Cardinals to a 9-3 win over the Rockies. Pujols was 4-for-5 with four RBI’s and a homer to join Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio as the only players in major league history to collect 500 RBI’s in their first four seasons. He got St. Louis on the board with a two run homer in the first inning. He struck again with an RBI single in the fourth and an RBI double in the ninth. Pujols has 46 home runs and 120 RBI’s this season. Jason Marquis lasted seven innings and got his 15th win, while Cal Eldred worked the last two innings to get his first save of the season. St. Louis swept the Rockies and have now won five straight.
