A 22-year-old St. Peters man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the beating death of his 4-month-old son. Richard Salas admitted in St. Charles County Circuit Court he had done drugs throughout the weekend before his son, Tyler, was dropped off at his place for visitation. When the baby wouldn’t stop crying, Salas punched and beat the boy, slammed his head against a wall and threw the infant into a trash can. The baby died on Father’s Day.
