Eric Warfield’s drunken driving citation may cause him more problems than his previous two convictions for DUI. Because he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in 2001 and 2003, Warfield could be facing a felony if charged. Warfield could also face suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. He was pulled over by Overland Park, Kansas Police early Monday morning after the Chiefs 28-17 loss to the Panthers. Warfield caught two interceptions and returned one back for a touchdown. Head coach Dick Vermeil said yesterday, “I’ve been instructed by the players’ association and the NFL. I make no comments in regard to Eric Warfield. You know it all goes into the legal worlds of (the NFL and NFL Players’ Association) and that totally eliminates a guy like myself. As far as I know we’re planning on playing (him).”
