Heating bills will be going up this winter for many in western and southern Missouri. The Public Service Commission has approved a $22.5-Million dollar annual rate increase for Missouri Gas Energy. The rate hike goes into effect next month. It will raise the average customer’s bill around $37 a year. Higher wholesale gas prices this winter could boost that figure higher. Missouri Gas Energy has half a million customers. It had wanted a $40-Million increase.
