Katie Wolfmeyer is a free woman after a jury in East St. Louis, Illinois found her not guilty of conspiring to have the agent of former St. Louis Blue Mike Danton killed. Wolfmeyer was accused of help setting up a murder-for-hire plot of David Frost. Wolfmeyer, who knew Danton through her employment at the facility where the Blues practice, was accused of helping hire a hit man. She introduced Danton to an acquaintance, Justin “Levi” Jones who worked for the Columbia, Illinois Police Department as a dispatcher. Jones contacted the authorities and worked with the FBI, along with Frost to set up a sting. In taped conversations, Wolfmeyer never used the word “hit” or “kill” when talking about the situation and one juror told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that they didn’t feel they could find her guilty without those words. Danton already pleaded guilty in October.
