The State Supreme Court has a replacement for Judge Duane Benton, who was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals. She’s Judge Mary Rhodes Russell, who served on the State Court of Appeals since 1995 when she was appointed by Governor Mel Carnahan. In announcing his appointment of Judge Russell to the State Supreme Court, Governor Bob Holden said, “she has an outstanding reputation as a knowledgeable and impartial jurist and a lifelong commitment to community service.” Judge Russell is 46.
