All of sudden, the Cardinals can’t seem to do anything right. The Cards committed four errors in an 8-3 loss to Houston on Thursday. Jeff Kent smacked two doubles and drove in four runs for the Astros. Jason Marquis took the loss for St. Louis. It ends an 11-game winning streak for Marquis that dated back to May 26. Albert Pujols hit his 44th home run of the season for St. Louis. John Mabry hit his 10th homer. The Cardinals have lost six of their last nine games, and have lost three straight series for the first time all season. The Cards magic number to clinch the N.L. Central title remains at four.
