Jeremy Bonderman fired eight scoreless innings as Detroit beat Kansas City 8-0 in the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader. The Royals managed just seven hits in the nightcap. Detroit scored three runs in the first inning, and added three more in the third on a three-run homer by Craig Monroe. Darrell May took the loss in game two. He gave up eight runs in seven-and-a-third innings, although only three of the runs were earned. Dee Brown and Angel Berroa each had two hits in game two.
