Outgoing House Speaker Expects GOP To Hold Onto Chamber

September 9, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

Whether or not the Republicans regain control of the Missouri House this November, there’ll be a new Speaker of the House when the Legislature gets down to business in January. House Speaker Catherine Hanaway of Warson Woods opted to run for Secretary of State. She feels confident the chamber will remain in Republican hands because, she says, the party has done a good job since taking control. Hanaway believes the current Speaker Pro-Tem Rod Jetton will be the next Speaker, provided Republicans maintain control.
