Charges against a man involved in a fatal car wreck with a police officer are now in the hands of a St. Louis jury. Deon Hampton is accused of killing Police Officer Michael Barwick when he crashed a car he allegedly stole into Barwick’s patrol car. Barwick died from injuries in the crash. Another officer in the car suffered serious injuries. Prosecutors charged Hampton with murder, because the crash occurred during the commission of another felony.
