The U-S Labor Department is revising a Missouri reportthat showed a loss of almost 52,000 jobs between June and July. Thereport said Missouri lost more than twice as many jobs as any other state, but the Labor Department now says that statement is inaccurate. An analyst hadincluded teachers on summer vacation as being unemployed, but LaborDepartment policy states that teachers on summer vacation are consideredemployed. An economist with the department had warned on the day of therelease that the report was misleading. The number of job losses isbelieved to be closer to 23,000, although that number will be revisedand released again.
