A Springfield man used a hand-held fire extinguisher to tryto put out a fire at a neighbor’s house, but the small extinguisher was notenough. The neighbor saw flames coming from a window air conditioner. Hecalled 9-1-1 and tried to put the fire out with his extinguisher. Whenfirefighters arrived, smoke was pouring from windows and the eaves of thehome. No one was at home at the time of the fire. Marshals areinvestigating the cause of the fire.
