The Cardinals’ four-game losing streak came to an end in the 10th inning Tuesday evening in Cincinnati. Cardinals’ reliever Julian Tavarez gave up an RBI single to Darren Bragg and St. Louis fell 4-3. Reggie Sanders put the Cardinals on top in the second inning with a solo home run, but Cincinnati countered with a homer from D’Angelo Jiminez in the in the bottom of the second, an RBI single from Sean Casey in the third and an RBI double from Jason LaRue in the fourth. Jim Edmonds made it 3-2 in the sixth inning with his 32nd home run of the season and Larry Walker’s seventh inning RBI single, tied it at 3-3. Jason Marquis got the no decision and Tavarez the loss. The Cardinals magic number is still 25, as the Cubs beat the Brewers 13-4.
