The Royals offered little resistance on Monday night as they fell 9-4 to the Angels in Anaheim. The Angels jumped out to a 9-0 lead before Calvin Pickering got the Royals on the board with a two-run homer in the top of the eighth. Aaron Guiel followed up with a solo shot. In the ninth, Matt Stairs drove in the final run of the game with a single. Pickering, who was called up from Class-AAA Omaha this weekend has three home runs in two games with the team. Royals’ starter Darrell May allowed five earned runs and dropped to 9-14 on the season, while reliever Matt Kinney gave up the other four runs.
