A deal struck with prosecutors will allow a St. Louis area woman to avoid huge costs incurred by the Humane Society in removing more than 250 animals from her farm and apartment.Gloria Sutter still could be charged with criminal mistreatment of the dogs and cats, which were found in neglected condition, some near death. The Humane Society says none had to be put to death, but two died during treatment. The remaining animals will be put up for adoption once restored to health.
