It was an impressive day for younger drivers with Missouri ties. Greg Biffle took the checkered flag in the NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway, while Jamie McMurray of Joplin finished 4th and Carl Edwards of Columbia made his debut with a 10th place finish. For McMurray, it was his fifth top-five finish this season and his 12th top-ten finish of the season. He’s 70 points out of the top 10, with three races to get inside the top 10 to qualify for the Nextel Cup Championship. He’s currently in 15th place. For Edwards it was an impressive start as he takes over the open spot at Roush Racing, which was create when Jeff Burton decided to sign with Childress Racing.
