Freshman Quarterback Leaves MU

August 20, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

University of Missouri freshman quarterback Darrell Jackson has withdrawn from the university. Coach Gary Pinkel says Jackson withdrew so he could take care of personal issues that need attention. The St. LouisPost-Dispatch reports sources say Jackson is accused of molesting an elementary-school-age girl while he was in high school. He is charged in juvenile court, but prosecutors want to certify him to be tried as an adult.A hearing on the matter is scheduled for next month. Jackson was a football star at Webster Groves High and a highly prized recruit for MU.
