St. Louis police suspect former University of Missouri football player Ernest Blackwell was on PCP or some other drug when he went on a rampage, shooting his 9-year-old stepdaughter and beating a 14-year-old girl and attacking that girl’s stepmother. Blackwell died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital after police used stun guns and sedatives to subdue him. Blackwell’s stepdaughter is reported in critical condition. The teenager is hospitalized. The stepmother was treated and released. Blackwell, who was 29, played for the Tigers in the 1990s, helping them end 13 years of losing seasons, earning a trip to the Holiday Bowl.
