The Nationwide Tour is back in Missouri for the 15th time. The Nationwide tour is the final stop before golfers make their way to the PGA. Three of the golfers in the field are Missourians: Michael Letzig, who hails from Richmond, Missouri and played at the University of New Mexico, Aaron Clark of Springfield, who played at Drury University and James Farrell of Kansas City. Letzig is also a former Missouri Amateur Champion. The top 20 on the Nationwide money list at the end of the season will get promoted to the PGA in 2005 and any player who wins three tournaments in a season gets an automatic promotion. The tournament raised $649,000 last year which, according to tournament Vice President Peter Yearac, comprises about 23% of the money the tour raises for charities. Yearac also said the Price Cutter Classic is the biggest single-event fundraiser in Southwest Missouri.
