Porn Industry Donations Become Part Of Holden-McCaskill Race

July 24, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

The Holden-McCaskill race for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination gets dirtier. Governor Bob Holden’s re-election campaign is accusing his main opponent – State Auditor Claire McCaskill – of accepting campaign donations from adult entertainment industry sources. The Holden compaign says the contributions go back to when McCaskill was Jackson County prosecutor a decade ago … and were received as recently as March of this year. The Holden team says the contributions were from donors who operated strip clubs or adult entertainment shops, or were from lawyers defending the industry. McCaskill says she’ll return some of the donations, adding as Jackson County prosecutor she took on the adult entertainment industry and busted prostitution rings.
